The domestic electric balance car standard specification has been submitted for approval

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade held the China Intelligent Short-distance Transportation Industry Innovation Development Forum and the China International Chamber of Commerce Intelligent Short-distance Transportation Professional Committee Working Group (preparatory) inauguration meeting in Beijing. Drafting of "Safety Requirements and Test Methods for Electric Balancing Vehicles" has begun.

The number of domestic electric balance scooter accidents is increasing; due to restrictions on standards and other restrictions, domestic electric balance scooters are experiencing difficulties in exporting. The promulgation of these two national standards will completely change the state of no quality and safety supervision in the domestic balance car related industries, and will play an important role in regulating the relevant market.

Yang Shuping, Secretary-General of the Robotics and Robotic Equipment Subcommittee of the National Automation System and Integration Standardization Technical Committee, said, "In October 2017, the bidding committee will complete the approval of the national standard drafting activity of the balance car and enter the national standard approval process." The production and operation of enterprises provide services, and as a basis for controlling product quality, it is an important means of product testing and certification.

Yang Shuping believes that the effective implementation of the above standards will bring huge social and economic benefits. On the one hand, it will not only make the balance car industry more orderly and standardized, help improve its quality and reduce accidents; on the other hand, it will also promote the improvement of the international competitiveness of China’s intelligent manufacturing, allowing more domestic products to go abroad and create more Great economic benefits.

Talking about the development of the smart short-distance transportation industry, Lu Pengqi, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, believes that “the smart short-distance transportation industry, as a sunrise industry with independent intellectual property rights in my country, has a large production scale, market potential and room for innovation. Although we are currently facing challenges, we will certainly have a brighter development prospect."

In fact, my country’s smart short-distance transportation industry is developing rapidly. At present, it mainly includes balance bikes, twisted cars, electric scooters and various variant extension products. It has gathered more than 80% of intellectual property rights and more than 90% of production capacity worldwide. Intellectual property rights and accumulated industrial manufacturing capabilities over the years have given the industry a burst of vitality. At the same time, the industry does not yet have a national quality standard, and there are disputes over intellectual property rights and product quality in major export markets such as the United States and the European Union.

To this end, the preparatory working group of the Intelligent Short-distance Transportation Professional Committee of the China International Chamber of Commerce was officially established today. The working group will prepare the first professional committee of my country's smart short-distance transportation industry. After the working group is established, there will be a secretariat, an intellectual property working group, a quality standards working group, a legal working group, a public relations working group, and an industrial chain integration and supporting working group to carry out industry work in an all-round way and promote the healthy development of the industry.
